What AFCL Puzzles holds about you.
The daily puzzle, the rankings and any solver’s page can be read without an account. We hold information about you once you sign in and start solving. There is no advertising on this platform, and no tracking or analytics of any kind.
What we hold
- Your AFCL account. Sign-in is the same account you use across the league. AFCL Puzzles holds no password of its own.
- Your name and country, copied from your AFCL profile. Change them there and they change here.
- Your solving record. Puzzle rating and its certainty, best rating, rated puzzles attempted, solved, failed and solved first time, total and fastest solving times, current and best streaks, and solves and failures per tactical theme.
- Your recent attempts. Which puzzle, the moves you submitted, when you started and finished, how long it took, whether you revealed the answer, and your rating before and after.
What is published
Your name, country, puzzle rating, puzzles solved, accuracy, average speed and streaks appear on the leaderboards and on your solver page, which anyone can read. A rating is only ranked after ten rated solves.
The moves you submitted on a particular puzzle are shown to you, on your own record, and are not published.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your record.
- We run no advertising, analytics or third-party trackers.
- We cannot play, message or act as you on Lichess, and we never see your Lichess password.
Your record
You can ask for a copy of it, ask us to correct the name or country attached to it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your puzzle record removes you from the leaderboards; it does not close your AFCL account, which is a separate request to the league. Contact us and we will deal with it.
The rest of the league
This page covers AFCL Puzzles. Club applications, your league profile and the games you play in league arenas are covered by the Africa Chess League’s own policy.
